THE BEST HOLIDAYS EVER

My best holidays in the world are the one that I went to when I finished High School. I saved money during a year, in 2016, and when I was finally eighteen, in January 2017 I travelled to Cancún, Mexico.

The trip was about two weeks and I made it with my boyfriend, who was my classmate at that time too.

We visited many archaeological places of the Mayan Culture, like the pyramids of Chichen Itzá and Tulum .

We also did fun activities, I swam with dolphins, I did free diving in the crystalline waters of Playa del Carmen, where I knew a great number of aquatic species.

We went to Isla Mujeres and also visited two natural and archaeological parks: Xcaret and Xel Ha. My favorite one was Xel Ha because it has a lot of things to do, especially aquatic activities. That day we practically swam the entire journey. Another activity that I liked to do was swimming in the "Cenotes", that are natural wells or sinkholes, which were sacred places for the Mayas.

I cannot forget the fact that we ate a lot of Mexican food and we tasted a great number of local dishes. 

The reason why this is my favorite holiday is that, in first place, I did it with the money of  an entire year of effort. In addition, I loved it because we met so many beautiful places, we made a lot of new activities that I never did before, we taste new foods and the most important, the people there is just lovely. All the Mexican people we have the pleasure to meet, treated us like we were in our home. We also learned a lot of the Mayan Culture.
